Appliance quotes in South Florida have a habit of growing at the curb — a "freon fee," a "heavy item" charge, fuel. Ours is the number you saw when you booked. This is what it includes, and the short list of things a licensed pro has to do before we get there.

Done by a licensed pro first
- –Gas. Gas dryers and stoves need the supply shut off and the line capped by a plumber or gas fitter. Our crews don't cap gas lines.
- –Hard-wired 220V. Wall ovens, cooktops and some dryers are wired straight to the panel. An electrician disconnects them; we don't open panels.
- –Built-ins. Dishwashers and wall ovens need water, drain and power disconnected and the unit pulled free of the cabinet. Once it's freestanding, we take it.
- –Stairs above ground level are $15 per flight, added at booking — still locked before we arrive.

Steel cabinets, copper coils and motors are the most recyclable junk there is. They're separated for scrap wherever the facility accepts them.

"On its own" is a weekday pickup with two or more days' notice; single small items land on the $119 minimum. Same-day adds 25%, next-day 10%, weekends 15%, applied to the item prices before the fee. Several at once is where it gets cheap: 4–7 items take 10% off, 8–15 take 15%, 16+ take 20%. A fridge, washer, dryer and dishwasher on one booking is $425 all-in.
Four things that make it go fast.
Empty and defrost. Freezers and fridge freezers need 24 hours unplugged with the door open and a towel down. A frozen unit is heavier and leaks in the truck.
Unplug it. Shut washer valves. Gas or hard-wired 220V? Book the plumber or electrician first — we can't touch those.
Clear the route. Rugs up, doors propped, cars out of the garage. Measure the narrowest doorway if the fridge is a wide French-door model.
Stairs, elevators, condo rules. Flights above ground are $15 each; some buildings want a service elevator booked. Put it in the notes.

How much does it cost to remove a refrigerator in Palm Beach County?
A full-size refrigerator is $149 all-in with Umuve anywhere we serve, Miami-Dade to Brevard: a $129 list price, a $10 appliance recycling fee for the refrigerant handling, and our 8% service fee. Same-day pickup adds 25%, next-day 10% and weekends 15%. Any single small appliance — microwave, bar fridge, stove — books at our $119 minimum.
Do I need to disconnect the appliance before you arrive?
Plug-in appliances: just unplug them. Washers: turn the water valves off and we'll pull the hoses. Gas dryers and gas stoves must have the gas shut off and the line capped by a licensed plumber or gas fitter before we arrive — our crews don't cap gas lines. Hard-wired 220V units and built-in dishwashers or wall ovens need to be disconnected by an electrician or plumber first; once it's freestanding, we take it.
What happens to the refrigerant in my old fridge or freezer?
Federal law (EPA Section 608) requires refrigerant to be recovered by certified technicians before a refrigerator, freezer or AC unit is scrapped. Your appliance goes to a licensed transfer station or scrap facility that does that recovery; we never vent it. The $10 appliance recycling fee on those items covers that handling.
Can you take a dishwasher or wall oven that's still installed?
Once the water, drain and power are disconnected and the unit is pulled free of the cabinet, yes. Our crews carry appliances out; they don't work under sinks or inside electrical panels, so a plumber or electrician handles the disconnect on built-ins. If the unit is already freestanding, book it like any other appliance.
Is it cheaper to have several appliances picked up at once?
Yes. Four to seven items on one booking get 10% off the item prices, eight to fifteen get 15% off, and sixteen or more get 20% off. A fridge, washer, dryer and dishwasher together come to $425 all-in instead of four separate trips.
Do you take appliances from apartments and condos with stairs or elevators?
Yes. Ground level and elevator buildings are included in the price. Flights of stairs above ground level are $15 per flight, added at booking so the number is still locked before we arrive. Tell us about narrow doorways, tight turns or loading-dock rules when you book.
